The first night match of the year at Cedar Point/Dietzville BRC was held Saturday evening in an attempt to escape the heat and the wind. Well, we escaped the heat, but the wind blew as hard as I have ever seen it at Cedar Pointe. The wind seemed to actually increase after dark. David Schmidt led the crew in setting up the lights and generators, but we had plenty of help. Then David led all the shooters to the line and commenced to putting a whooping on everyone. On target one David shot a 2350 with the next closest competitor shooting a 1900. At the end of the night, David won 4 out of the 6 targets, Chris Peet won target 4 and Dawn Killough won target 5. Congratulations to David Schmidt on a great night of shooting in some tough conditions, and thank you to everyone for helping set up and tear down the lights and targets. Next match is July 18 at 7:00 pm.

Cedar Pointe ARA, held it first match today and were almost shut down by the violent storms in the area.  Seven shooters braved the trip in, and the Rain Gods responded and moved the rains east.  Sorry Houston but we needed a break. Top targets were handed in by David Schmidt 2350, Les Williams 2300.    2200's were shot by Fred Jamison & Mackey Locklin.  The top 4 agg's, were separated by only 23.34 points.   See the Match Reports for the complete breakdown.

A big South Texas welcome to Adam Pieghtal from Ft Hood TX.   His father, Jim Pieghtal is the MD at Ft. Hand in PA.  Despite what everyone thinks, we do let Yankees shoot in South Texas.  If Adam's schedule permits, he plans to shoot with us a few more times before he ships out to another station.  Welcome to Texas Adam, It was our pleasure.  As usual, Dorothy conjured up some fine Chicken Salad, and to top it off, Strawberry's Whipped Cream and Angel Food Cake.   WoW, it does not get any better than this.

11 Shooters attended the first match of the year for the Dietzville BRC, but unfortunately Dorothy Jamison was not able to attend. I am sure this is the first match she has missed in a long time. We wish Dorothy the best, and we ask that you join us in praying for her complete recovery. Conditions were cloudy, breezy, and a light jacket was definitely needed. The wind was typical Dietzville. It would blow and switch. It is amazing how the wind can blow 15 mph from the 2 o'clock position and then almost instantly be blowing 20 mph from the 10 o'clock position. The wind did not seem to bother Macky Locklin on Target 5. He turned in the high target of the day with a 2325 and the next highest score on that target was a 2000. Good Job Macky!!! Junior shooter Allison Yates was having a good day, and we look forward to shooting more with her. In the end Dan Killough was 1st, David Schmidt 2nd, and Macky Locklin was 3rd. We would like to thank everyone for pitching in to help with target setup, scoring, and retrieving. It was a nice smooth match thanks to all of the help.
